Cameron accused Brown of many things when he was in opposition but now he’s in office he’s making the same mistakes only ten times worse. In the face of erupting conflicts and natural diasters this firesale looks more badly judged than selling off the gold only this time there’s no excuse.
I’ve had the idea for some time that Labour could form problem solving community support “hit squads”. This is similar to David Miliband’s wheeze to engage communities but, I think, my idea is better. The same scheme could work internationally so why don’t we buy the Ark Royal? Kickstarter and Indie GoGo are possible funding mechanisms.
Now, I’ll admit, the idea of swanning around the world being surrounded by lots of busty young things in bright red tee-shirts and berries is appealing but that’s got nothing to do with it. Honest.
